Residential
In addition to day provision, Broomhill Bank School offers weekly residential placements during term time at The BBSN site in Hextable.
The residential accommodation is warm and homely, and is comprised of substantial living accomodation, with a further two houses in development, providing 24 single bedrooms and spacious communal living areas.
Pupils are supported and encouraged to personalise their bedrooms and participate in the day-to-day running of the homes. This is designed to prepare them for independent living. Tasks include preparing meals, washing up, doing their laundry and learning how to budget for food.
Our highly qualified and experienced care team supports the children and young people to develop key life skills, in line with their Individual Placement Plans.
Each young person has a dedicated key worker, who works alongside the education and therapy teams, parents and other professionals to ensure positive outcomes for pupils.
Learning takes place throughout the waking day, and is embedded in the normal school day. Pupils are encouraged to organise and participate in a variety of educational and recreational activities that support the targets on their Education Healthcare Plans (EHCP) and/or Individual Education Plans.
Activities are purposeful and meaningful to the pupils’ particular skills, talents and interests. These include football, cultural evenings, computer games and visits to social clubs.
